WHAT TO GET HIM?

I have been scouring the web using my clear wireless internet connection to try and figure out what I am going to get my husband for Valentine’s Day. I have been on every gift blog, most retail sites, and e-mailing friends and family. I just can’t decide what to get him. For Valentine’s Day, you don’t want to go over the top. You just want something that is small and meaningful for a guy. The problem is that my husband has just about anything and everything that you could ever think of. He is one of those people that if he needs something he goes out and gets it. I have a hard time with gifts for him because I am always having to find something that is unique and sentimental. We have been together so long now too that I feel like I have already gotten him everything! Push comes to shove and I really can’t decide of what to get him, maybe I will make him a bunch of his favorite desserts. Maybe a nice dessert sampler made by me would be just the thing that he would like!

Mouth Man Hoodies Review & Giveaway!
I received 3 Mouth Man Hoodies,, the original in animal apparel, for my 3 boys to wear and review. Mouth Man Hoodies Shirts, Sharks, Raptors and Skeletons, Oh My... One "Super-Lucky" Detroit Mom reader will win one Mouth Man Hoodie of their own, how cool is that? My boys were super excited to peruse the Mouth Man website. Their were so many cool hoodies to choose from they had a hard time choosing. But we all enjoyed the ease of the website. The display pictures are awesome and extremely accurate. What you see on the website is what you receive in your mail box.
Let me just say this was an extremely difficult review to to get posted. Why, you ask? Well, I'll tell you... My boys were always wearing them! They've been washed numerous times, and always came clean. Through grease,dirt and perspiration! The material/fabric is 100% polyester light weight and SPF50 protected. So, besides being fashionably fun they also protect you from the damages of the sun.
The Hoodies really have come in handy during our un-predictable Michigan weather days.
When it was very cold the boys wore the hoodies beneath their winter coats. Layering (several layers of clothing) is a great way to stay warm and prevent hypothermia. My oldest is a college student and works at a fast food restaurant. He wears his hoodie on top of his uniform shirt and beneath his coat, on days when he goes to class from work.
Earlier this week we celebrated my youngest sons birthday at a hotel. The boys wore their hoodies as cover-ups, when they got out of the pool! The Mouth Man hoodie has definitely become an intrigal part of their everyday wardrobe. Their friends have asked where they can get one too. We have created a buzz here in Detroit with Mouth Man hoodies.

Because I spend a large portion of my day on the internet I don't get out of the house very much. Even before blogging I used to do online surveys, and be a (self-proclaimed "Master Sweeper" LOL) . Believe me when I tell you entering sweepstakes could very well be a full-time job! New contests are being added everyday. The rewards run the gamut from T-shirts to millions of dollars. And the most important rule of sweepstakes, you can't win if you don't play!
One of the good things about spending time online is that you find about shopping deals, sales, and new online sites almost immediately. As a blogger at times I feel like a kid in the proverbial online "candy store". So many sites so many new "cool gadgets" it's enough to drive a blogger "batty". But not me!, at least not yet LOL.
Around Christmas I decided I would do some room make-overs in my house. So, I've been perusing online sites to see whats new, different and unique. I ran across a modern silver dresser. It was so beautiful. Do realize with the price tag this is something that will have to go on my "wishlist". But it definitely deserves an honorable mention and a book mark. Just because things are out of my price range at the moment, a blogger can always dream, LOL.
On a more affordable level I found a modern, yet multifunctional slate and wood coffee table . Because we are in a much smaller house most furniture has more the one duty. This coffee table has the ability to hold some small knick-knacks, photos and coasters on a bottom shelf. It would go great with the furniture I've picked for my living room. As I continue to find new, exciting and multifunctional furniture, I will make sure and share all of these awesome finds with you!

New Application Period for 19 DPS Schools opened Monday Feb. 13
Detroit Public Schools has kicked off the process for its 19 Application Schools for the 2012-13 school year. Families can apply now to the schools that range from a number of elementary schools to new programs such as the Dr. Benjamin Carson School of Science and Medicine, Detroit Collegiate Prep High School, and for incoming 9th graders at the East English Village Preparatory Academy, set to open in a new $46 million facility this fall.
The new five-week Application Schools period runs through March 15. Schools Applications are open to families of current DPS students as well as those newly enrolling or attending school elsewhere.
Emergency Manager Roy Roberts also announced that an Open Enrollment Period for non-application schools will follow, running from March 15-April 16.

Limited slots are available at each school.
Each school maintains a “wait-list”.
The application period will run through March 15, 2012. All applications must be submitted to the school of interest no later than 4:00 p.m. on March 15, 2012.
Late applications will not be accepted.
The decision of the school review committee is final.
Acceptance notifications will be sent to parents no later than March 31, 2012.
