Malware that has been circulating around the Internet may cause Mac and PC users to lose access to the Internet on Monday, July 9, 2012.

In November 2011, the FBI released a statement about the criminal ring that was responsible and a explanation of what the malware does. In a move to keep unsuspected infected users from loosing Internet access they set up clean machines to replace the malware infected computers the criminal ring had set up.

On July 9, the FBI will turn off the machines and those users who are still affected will not have access to the Internet.

It is easy to check to see if you are infected. Just visit this address: http://www.dcwg.org/detect/ the instructions laid out there will explain what to do to check your computer and IF you are infected what steps to take to clean your computer.
