Our country is experiencing the "Hottest" summer in recent history. Everyone is talking about how hot it is. Living in Michigan when the heat arrives, so does the "humidity". Although I don't care for extreme heat, I could probably take it, if it weren't for the "humidity". It makes it almost unbearable. Luckily, my families favorite dessert is Ice Cream. We Love Ice Cream and eat it all year long, not only in the summer or warmer months. Everyone in the house has their favorite brand of ice cream.
I really enjoy the Magnum Ice Cream Bars. They are so rich and decadent. It really makes me feel like I'm giving myself a treat. Now they are in smaller sizes with the new Magnum Mini Bars. They are equally as decadent and flavorful only in a smaller package. This really helps me as I am continuing on my Nutrisystem program this summer. I switch back and forth between the Magnum Classic with it's rich vanilla bean ice cream dipped in Belgian Chocolate and the Magnum Almond which is equally as good but gives me that extra crunch I sometimes need.
The Hubs enjoys the Klondike Bars. His favorite is the Choco-Taco. A cute Ice Cream sandwich which looks like a Taco. It is equally decadent as it is whimsical. One night he ate 3 of those Choco-Taco's I thought he was going to "explode" LOL. The Choco Taco flavors are Peanut-butter,chocolate and a vanilla chocolate swirl mix.
The boys enjoy all ice creams and flavors. I seriously can't think of a flavor of ice cream they don't like. However, they do have favorites they enjoy from time to time. This month it is the Sour Patch Popsicles. I honestly don't know how they can eat those posicles. They are sooo sour in the beginning and then they become sweet. But I could never get past the "sour" in the beginning. My lips and jaws were puckered and I had brain freeze. The Sour Patch Popsicle' s are definitely not your parents Popsicle.
Ice Cream and Popsicle's have really changed since I was a kid. I used to love the red,white and blue bomb pops Shaped like a torpedo, the icy-goodness was sure to rocket me to the moon. When I was very young that orangy sherbert in a push-up pop was my choice. Over the years our favorite icy treats change. Luckily for us,the ice cream experts at Magnum,Klondike,Good Humor and Popsicle are always coming out with new and interesting ways for us to keep cool.
