Ghost Buddy Book Review & Giveaway (3 Winners) U.S. & Canada Ends 8/31

New York Times Best Selling Authors Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver present Ghost Buddy #2  Mind If I Read Your Mind. Ghost Buddy #2 is the follow up book to the very successful first book in the series, Ghost Buddy Zero to Hero.

I couldn't believe it when I found out "The Fonz" was a successful children's book author. A huge fan of Happy Days as a kid, I couldn't wait to see how Henry Winkler had reinvented himself. I quickly delve into book #1 Ghost Buddy Zero to Hero. I found myself laughing and very intrigued at the same time. MoorePark Middle School (the school in the book) is exactly Middle School as I remember it. I could smell the aroma of the cafeteria as I read the book, LOL. Billy Broccoli would've been labeled a "Dork" (do people still use that word?) in my Middle School. From his name to his choice in clothing attire he would not have been my choice as a lead character. But, the fact that he is the lead character in all of his "UN-popularity" shows this reader the creativity of Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver! As an over 40 married mom of 3 boys I enjoyed both books. After I read both books I gave them to my youngest son, Darius to read. If you've been following my blog, then you know how I've struggled to get my boys to READ. Darius is the only one who reads books on his own. I would have to say he even enjoys reading (Thank You, GOD!)

I am the youngest in my family. I have two older brothers. Sometimes I get lonely when my brothers leave me at home alone. Reading books allow me to use my imagination and escape to different worlds.
I really liked reading both of the books in the Ghost Buddy Series. When I go back to School in September I will be in Middle School too, just like Billy Broccoli. I liked his name a lot. I don't think I've ever met anyone with the last name Broccoli. Or anybody whose first or last name is the same as food, I thought that was funny. I think if a boy went to my school and he wore "fart" shirts all the time people would think he was weird and make fun of him. We wear uniforms at my school, so he would only be able to wear his "fart" shirts on free dress day. He is also clumsy and people love making fun of clumsy people. I can't imagine how my friends would treat me if they knew my mom was the principal. Some people probably would try to be my friend, but I think most people would tease me about it.
I couldn't believe it when I found out he was really friends with a Ghost. I had to read that part a few times before I understood it. I wish I went to Billy's school, they have all kinds of activities we don't have at my school. A speak out challenge would be really cool to have at my school. We give speeches for our reports but never just something you think of by yourself. I like that Billy's friend, the Ghost will help him with this challenge. Billy thinks he doesn't have any talents but being able to say the alphabet backwards is cool. I tried to see if I could say the alphabet backwards and it is very hard. If I could say it backwards I probably would have done that, but Billy wants to do something really amazing. Reading Minds. Wow! If I could read minds? I can't think of all the things I would do with that talent. Billy and his Ghost friend quickly find out how much trouble they can get into. I liked reading both books and can't wait until the next. Thank you Schoolastic for sending my mom these 2 books. If you win a copy of the book, please enter below.
