Whenever I visit a florist or my local farmers market I'm in awe of the fascinating things they do with flowers. Flowers, for decoration, flowers for garnish and even edible flowers! Flowers are no longer reserved for funerals and weddings.
The addition of flowers has a way of brightening up a room and your mood. When was the last time you saw a vase of fresh cut flowers and didn't smile? Just knowing how beautiful nature can be is a smile within itself.
Sometimes when my mood is funky and my pockets are not full I take part in what I call "Flower Therapy." Similar to Retail Therapy, my version of flower therapy lifts my mood and my home, once I arrive home with my bundle of joy. I go to my local florist, walk around inhale the intoxicating aromas that different flowers emit. My mood is lifted and I choose a bouquet or arrangement that really makes my day or maybe my week depending on how long my arrangement lasts.
During the Christmas Holidays I like to choose carnations to decorate my home. Carnations are really inexpensive but they last a very long time. Carnations are available in several colors, I usually choose the traditional colors of white, red and green.
