October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

While the month of October doesn't have a so-called Major Holiday (unless you're one of the many that count Halloween, LOL) it is a big month for causes. October is awareness month for Autism, Domestic Abuse and Breast Cancer.

With so many women and men (yes, men have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer too, including the actor Richard Roundtree) being diagnosed every day, the disease of breast cancer is a national epidemic. By raising awareness we try to educate the masses. Then more and more people are tested and in many cases early detection is the key to treatment, remission and eventually a cure.

Supporters of Breast Cancer awareness, like me, believe we are saving lives every day. We're reducing the stigmatism attached to the disease and promoting early detection which leads to longer survival rates.

Breast cancer advocates come in many forms. Some raise money for research. Only through years and years of constant research and drug development will a cure be found. With thousands and thousands of public and private donations and support researchers have identified new forms of treatments and even genes which are responsible for the cause of many cancers. Many lobby congress for better care and more knowledge throughout communities. Only through knowledge and education will the general public be informed with the signs and symptoms of cancer, and the importance of early detection. Nutrition is also an important aspect in the treatment and cure of cancer. There are also Amazon Coupons which can be used to save you money on many products and support Breast Cancer Awareness.
The color Pink has been adopted and is recognized and accepted as the "official color" of Breast Cancer Awareness. Many celebrities, sports figures and national brands support and promote breast cancer awareness by wearing pink clothing and gear.
Because so many people are involved with the support and promotion of Breast Cancer Awareness, it is easy for the rest of us to also show our support. Many food brands have on their labels if you buy their products they will donate proceeds of their profits to various breast cancer non-profits. Another option is  Breast Cancer Awareness Coupons.
Lets all do our part to find a cure for Breast Cancer.
